Lasiodora parahybana – Brazilian salmon pink bird eater
This is an extremely large species from Brazil in South America. L. parahybana is a brown/black spider with lovely long pink guard hairs on the abdomen. This species can often exceed a 25cm leg span. Although they are not know to be overly defensive they do have the ability to flick urticating hairs from its abdomen. Keep this species at around 25 degrees C and a relitive humidity of 70% - 80%. It also requires a big hide to seek refugia. This is a species that can be recommended for beginners.
