Monocentropus balfouri – Socotra Island Blue Baboon
5 in a pot toge
This is a medium sized spider from the Socotra Island located off east Africa. This is a fantastic species that is blue and grey/light brown in colour. The blue legs and carapace under certain lights is truly amazing. This species can be kept communally and make a fantastic spectacle in a collection. This is a defensive yet shy species, it will often run away from stress but has been known when threatened to rear up and try to bite. This species requires a temperature of 25-28 degrees C and low humidity about 60%. M. balfouri is a great species to start you off keeping some of the more defensive species. An intermediate level of experience is required.
